When My Mind Is Everywhere
Yesterday, I reached a point where my mind was everywhere.
I was trying to work, but I couldn’t concentrate anymore. My thoughts felt scattered, and even simple things were becoming difficult. I kept trying because there were things I wanted to finish, but eventually I had to admit something to myself:
I can’t do any more today.
For someone else, stopping might seem like a small decision. For me, it isn’t always easy.
When there is something I want to accomplish, part of me wants to keep pushing. I want to finish one more thing, make one more post, complete one more task. But yesterday, my brain was telling me that it had reached its limit.
So I stopped.
And today, I came back.
The work was still here. Nothing terrible happened because I didn’t finish everything yesterday. I simply returned when my mind was ready to try again.
That made me think differently about what One Quiet Moment can mean.
I often talk about finding a quiet moment through creativity. Pyrography became that place for me when my mind needed somewhere else to go. But maybe a quiet moment doesn’t always have to involve creating something.
Sometimes the quiet moment is stopping.
Sometimes it is closing the computer.
Sometimes it is accepting that your mind cannot give you any more today.
And sometimes it is waking up the next day and saying:
I’m back.
Yesterday, my quiet moment was allowing myself to stop.
Today, my quiet moment is knowing that I can begin again.
I don’t have to accomplish everything at once.
Five quiet minutes at a time. ❤️
